2 minutes with Claire

I asked Claire, a precocious 5 year old, if I could follow her around for a few minutes out of her day to find out what she would do on a slow Saturday afternoon with endless possiblities.
What I found was a magical world with no stress or cares to interfere with life’s little pleasures.

Living in the Present

Living in the present is the story of Simone. A young, single mother finishing up her master’s degree at the University of Texas in Tyler; Simone has a rare disease known as Syringomyelia, which has an estimated 8.4 cases for every 100,000 people, and affects her spinal cord. Syringomyelia can cause pain, weakness, stiffness in the back and shoulders, and paralysis. Although this disease forces Simone to slow down, it has also given her a new outlook on life that allows her to cherish every moment with her young daughter even more so than before.

The Burlesque Mother

The Burlesque Mother is the story of Amanda Storms, AKA Poppy Pie. She is the creator and cofounder, producer, choreographer and proprietor of Two Lips Burlesque based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Poppy is also the mother of Raya, a bright 6 year old girl. Poppy carefully shields Raya from the nature of what she does, but knows there will come a time when Raya will have questions. Until that time, Poppy delights in playing dress up with her daughter and encouraging Raya’s sense of imagination.
